A white-label driving school app should carry the school's identity through the full learner experience, beyond replacing a header logo. At minimum, the admin workspace, instructor mobile view, pupil portal and service communications should use the same published school name, logo, colours and support contact.
The practical test is simple: ask an instructor and a pupil which school account they are in without showing them the settings page.
What to include in the brand model
School name and logo
Store one published school identity and validate uploads. A sensible implementation limits file type and size, preserves aspect ratio and provides a readable fallback mark if the logo cannot load.
Primary and secondary colours
A full colour picker and hexadecimal field help schools match existing artwork. On supported systems, an eyedropper can sample a colour already visible on screen. The app should derive readable foreground colours rather than assuming white text works on every choice.
Support contact
Pupil-facing help should point to the school where the question concerns lessons, prices or bookings. Platform and security issues still need a clear DriveBest support route.
Tuition prices and terms
Brand is more than appearance. The pupil portal should present the school's own lesson and block prices, cancellation notice and current terms. Acceptance evidence must preserve the exact terms version rather than whatever wording is live later.
Where the branding should appear
Use a checklist during the trial:
•
- desktop school navigation and page accents;
•
- instructor mobile header, selected tab and key actions;
•
- pupil home, progress, wallet and messages;
•
- Stripe Checkout branding supported by the connected account;
•
- reminder and check-in email context;
•
- downloaded or shared pupil-facing records where offered.
Total Drive's public pupil-app page says schools can add a logo, colours and school name. That makes it a credible white-label option to compare. The question is not whether branding exists, but how consistently it applies and what control the school retains.
Accessibility is not optional
School colours can be attractive and still make text unreadable. Test normal text, selected navigation, buttons, focus outlines, error states and disabled controls. Check phone and desktop layouts and enlarge browser text to 200 percent.
If the selected colour cannot provide adequate contrast for a particular element, the product should choose a safe derived foreground or reserve the colour for a border/accent. The settings preview should make that visible before publishing.
Version branding changes
A preview/draft/published model avoids half-applied updates. Staff can change the logo and colour, inspect both desktop and mobile previews, then publish one coherent version. Instructor and pupil apps read the same published version on refresh.
Restoring platform defaults should switch the display safely without deleting historic pupil, payment or lesson data.
Commercial questions
Ask whether white-labelling is included or restricted to a higher tier; whether pupil accounts cost extra; whether the supplier name remains prominent; and whether the school can export its data and remove branding when the contract ends.
DriveBest includes school-wide white-labelling in its annual school licence. It does not offer separate independent-instructor subscriptions, so its brand model begins at the school tenant.
