Tap the speech-bubble icon at the top right. The bell opens Notifications, which is a separate page. A message bubble on a pupil or staff card opens a conversation with that person.
Choose the person you mean
1.
Choose a contact and check the name above the message box.
2.
Write your message. The limit is 4,000 characters.
3.
Choose Send message. Wait for it to appear and for the message box to clear.
4.
If sending cannot be confirmed, keep the draft and retry it. Do not start another copy of the same message.
Each private conversation has two participants: the sender and the named recipient. A School owner cannot open an instructor–pupil conversation just because they are an administrator. Another pupil cannot open it either. Broadcast slot notices and automatic reminders appear separately in Notifications.
Pupils can message their assigned instructor or an available school administrator. Instructors can message their assigned pupils and school colleagues. A pupil who has not joined the portal needs an invitation before they can receive private messages.
If a pupil changes instructor
Their old conversation stays private between its original participants. The new instructor does not inherit it. New messages to a former instructor are disabled after reassignment; use the pupil's current instructor contact instead.
Notification settings
Open the bell icon to read notices and manage email notifications. Available-slot emails require a separate opt-in. In-app notices remain available when email is off. Email alerts for private messages contain no message text; sign in to read the conversation.
Sending does not prove the person has read the message. Do not include passwords, card details or unnecessary sensitive information.
